When I decided to start my own business, I took my personal blog down.
I’d written deeply personal posts about my experiences with mental illness and was afraid that if a potential client saw them, they wouldn’t want to work with me.
More recently, I decided that I’d use whichever medium I could to become an advocate for the very thing I was so ashamed of.
And if that means a future client decides not to work with me based on the fact that I am open about my illness and trying to connect with others to provide support and education… f*ck ’em.
I wouldn’t want to work with them anyway.
In the coming weeks, I intend to resurrect some of my old posts and keep sharing my ongoing battle with bipolar disorder, my crazy canine companions, and other fun things that keep me from getting actual work done. I hope you’ll join me.
